Heart disease is the leading cause death in the US, but with early detection and aggressive treatment, it can be avoided.

Diet: Avoid red meats, increase your intake of vegetables, fruits and fish.

Exercise: get at least 150 minutes of moderate intensity aerobic activity per week.

Labs: we will check your cholesterol and other cardiac markers every year at your executive physical. This helps us determine your risk of heart disease.

Early detection: if you have a high risk for heart disease, we can have you do a specialized CT scan to take a picture of the inside of your coronary arteries. If plaque is found inside the arteries, then you have heart disease.

Treatment: the goal of treatment is to minimize plaque progression and decrease your risk of heart attack. We can do this with supplements like fish oil, medications like aspirin and statins, and newer injectable medications called PCSK-9 inhibitors.
